UCF Faculty Senate committees provide academic oversight by reviewing and approving policies, new courses, course changes, new programs, and program revisions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To consider all undergraduate student admissions that do not meet the minimum university admissions standards and that are referred to it by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
  • To consider all undergraduate student appeals of readmission decisions or academic standing.
  • To consider undergraduate student appeals of decisions that have been made by the College of Undergraduate Studies concerning late withdrawals, late drops, late adds, and medical withdrawals.
  • To consider graduate student appeals of decisions that have been made by the College of Graduate Studies concerning late withdrawals, late drops, late adds, and medical withdrawals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To hear petitions for variances from established policies governing post-baccalaureate, certificate, or graduate degrees regardless of the administrative level from which the policy emanated including the graduate program, the college, or the university.
  • To hear other cases as referred by the dean of the College of Graduate Studies including but not limited to appeals of adverse admissions decisions, appeals of adverse administrative decisions, and appeals originating in The Golden Rule and requiring a decision by the dean of the College of Graduate Studies.
  • To hear all requests from graduate program directors for exceptions to graduate policies and procedures.
  • To identify graduate program practices that have policy implications and refer them to the dean of the College of Graduate Studies.
  • To review all matters referred by the Graduate Council.
  • All conclusions of deliberations by the Graduate Appeal Committee are considered recommendations to the dean of the College of Graduate Studies who makes the final decision for the university.

Conference, Registration, and Travel (CRT) Allocation2020-11-26T12:06:34-05:00

An allocation is facilitated by Student Government. Funding amounts are determined based on needs but can be up to $200 for networking conferences and $400 for presenting, with a $100 supplement for international travel. A CRT allocation can be used in conjunction with a Presentation Fellowship.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is a free-of-charge campus agency designated to provide culturally and trauma-informed services to university-enrolled students. During normal operations, CAPS offers initial assessments, brief individual counseling, group therapy, workshops and educational presentations on a variety of topics, crisis intervention and daily walk-in services, and professional consultations to staff, faculty, students and parents. They offer services in an atmosphere that is welcoming and comfortable for all students regardless of race, gender, ethnic background, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, citizenship, or physical status.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To review curricular issues related to graduate education and make recommendations to the dean of the College of Graduate Studies.
  • To review changes to existing graduate programs (such as hours, thesis/non-thesis options).
  • To review new tracks or options to existing graduate programs and deletions of tracks or options.
  • To review new certificate programs and the deletion of existing certificate programs.
  • To review all requests for additions, revisions, and deletions of graduate and special topic courses.
  • To review all matters referred by the dean of the College of Graduate Studies.
